Work that compounds.

Kanbrick is a long-term investment partnership founded by Tracy Britt Cool and Brian Humphrey, built to be the option they wished existed for their own families’ businesses. One with a decades-long horizon, an operating team that does the work, and partnerships built to be truly win/win.

Our KBS team works shoulder-to-shoulder with the leaders of our partner companies, on strategy, talent, operations, and execution. We’re operators and business builders, not advisors at a distance.

Tracy and Brian built Kanbrick to be the long-term option they wished existed. We think in decades, not quarters, which means what you build here doesn’t get undone at the next sale.

Alongside our partnerships, we bring together a broader group of CEOs and owners of family- and founder-led businesses to learn, share, and grow through the Kanbrick Community.

Open Positions

Where you’ll make an impact

We hire across four areas: our Investing team, the Kanbrick Business System (KBS), our Community team, and Kanbrick corporate roles. Partner company roles are direct hires into our partner businesses.

About Kanbrick team roles: We hire across four tracks: Investing, the Kanbrick Business System (KBS), Community, and Kanbrick corporate roles. KBS roles span Technology, Strategy & Operations, Talent, and Corporate Development.

Most operating roles in PE ask you to advise. This one asks you to build. As KBS Lead at four to six of our partner companies, you partner closely with CEOs, drive hands-on value creation, and show up in the Kanbrick Community. The right person has operated at a senior level and creates change through influence, not authority.

A generalist seat on a small, entrepreneurial investing team: sourcing and underwriting closely-held businesses, building financial models, diving into due diligence, and supporting our companies post-close. We’re looking for someone with a bias for action, low ego, and genuine curiosity about what makes businesses win.

You work across two surfaces: internally, building the AI tooling, skills ecosystem, and automation infrastructure that makes the Kanbrick team sharper; and in our partner companies, embedding with their teams to map high-value workflows, deploy agent-driven automation, and drive adoption. What you build in year one becomes the operating template across the entire Kanbrick family.

Kanbrick’s first Finance Manager: a CPA who will own the firm’s full financial infrastructure across accounting, compliance, tax, investor relations, and audit. This is not a support function. You build the system, run it autonomously, and grow with the firm as it adds partner companies and complexity over the next decade.

The Kanbrick Community has 3,000+ members and is growing. Your job is to find the next generation of values-aligned founders and CEOs and connect them to what Kanbrick offers: peer community, programming, and a long-term relationship with a team that genuinely wants to help them build. Ideal background: 6+ years in business development, corporate development, wealth management, or executive recruiting.

Beyond Open Roles

Build with us, even before the right role exists

A peer network for CFOs, VPs of Finance, and senior finance operators who want to stay connected to Kanbrick and to each other. No search agenda. Just relationships, learning, and experience worth having.

  • Early visibility to finance leadership roles across our partner companies and the broader Kanbrick Community
  • Periodic touchpoints with Kanbrick’s team focused on content relevant to senior finance operators
  • Peer connections with mid-market finance leaders facing the same challenges you are
  • No pressure, no cost, no obligation

What We Offer

What working here actually means

We hire for capability, character, and culture. Our values are simple.

01

A team that takes the work seriously

We’re collaborative, high-performing, and low-ego. The standard is high because the stakes are real, but we get there together, not through internal competition.

02

Proximity to decisions that matter

Kanbrick is a small partnership. There’s no bureaucratic distance between you and the work. You’ll have exposure to leadership, to CEOs, and to the business challenges that define whether companies succeed.

03

Room to grow and to build

We’re investing in long-term capabilities, not just filling seats. The right people here have the space to shape their role, build something lasting, and grow into broader ownership over time.

04

Competitive pay and real benefits

We pay competitively and build comp packages that reflect the scope of the work. Details vary by role; reach out and we’ll have a straight conversation.
